Excellent in the garden or in a vase they are great as a backdrop to lower flowering plants or shrubs. Most Christmas lilies will flower around Christmas time in the north, January in the south. The trumpet lilies bloom in mid-summer and have a heavy sweet fragrance. Their huge, waxy trumpet flowers (up to 15-25 cm) may be pendant, widely flaring in a shallow bowl shape or be upward facing. They have a long flowering season producing up to 12-15 blooms per stalk.
